WPtouch iPhone Theme is a magnificent plugin for wordpress that will let people using mobile devices see your wordpress website like it was an iphone app.
One of my good friends and former co-workers is a key code monkey for Visible Measures and certain he is glad to see their company being talked about on Tech Crunch.
They seemed to have closed a $10 million series C round of funding, led by Northgate Capital which hopefully means more work will be coming my way. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. All kidding aside, it’s no surprise to me as their product is quite amazing and know @1G33K and his team work very long hours and are extremely dedicated to their app.
Congrats!

The public finally gets to see this fantastic app in progress after last night’s demo on demo.com. I think they did fantastic job demonstrating the app’s behavior and potential. VM’s app captures internet video audience behavior and provides very rich graphs and details about what happens when someone watches a particular video.
What that means is layman’s terms is video statistics. They’ve made this app that captures what people do when watching a video, such as pause, rewind, mute, turn the volume up, etc… and convert that data into something usable. Very cool stuff. I’m currently working with a good friend of mine who is a programmer over at Visible Measures on the UI for their application. Unfortunately, I still am not able to post screen caps but I can assure you, this app rocks.
Checkout their press release over here.
Seems like my former manager, client, former manager have started up a blog over at http://www.startupottawa.com/. Needless to say it’s a blog about for the startup/tech scene in Ottawa, Canada. Some interesting posts here, I just may have to subscribe to their news feeds.
Funny yet sad video demonstrating the hardships of developers and their out of whack project management. My old boss Craig from Devshop put this together and must say he did a great job. Check out my little homie Dylan doing a great acting job.
The Shopify marketplace has recently launched and I must say is quite kick ass. The functionality allows you to search the thousands of Shopify stores for products, even within a certain price range. The featured shop of the day is also quite cool. Very nice work guys.
The magnificent folks over at Jaded Pixel recently celebrated their 1 year anniversary of the Shopify launch. Working with the many Shopify shop owners on their stores is one of the most pleasant types of projects I get to do. I congratulate them and thank them kindly for all the business they send my way.

Great examples of where web applications are headed can be found here, it’s a little outdated but I like to visit the winners, and runner ups every now and then.
I Read an interesting article today on ThinkVitamin.com. It has magnificent advise for those who are involved in a software company. I am constantly intrigued by companies who want to remove the “bs” from marketing. I think people have had enough of being mislead and charged ridiculous amount of money for software. With Web apps growing in popularity, startups are charging next to nothing, I think of David vs Goliath and I think Goliath is going down. :)
