Sometimes in Shopify you’ll need to have a unique image heading the page. With Shopify you only get one field to input data for your pages, so here’s a little workaround.

Sometimes you install plugins, addons and tweaks to Shopify which use specific versions of jQuery. Sometimes this breaks every other script written in a theme. I’m writting this as a note to myself mostly but may help others.

• Fixed issue with DKK currency
• Added customer account styles (be sure to select themes/theme settings/additional layouts/customer area layout: theme)
• Added Social links to product (must enable in settings)
• Added checkout currency blurb and cart note
• Added checkout style (Checkout now uses your shop theme settings for branding consistency)

Stoked is now properly configured to display compare at price, in other words ON SALE. There is a new theme settings tab that will allow you to configure ON SALE tag settings.

I’ve updated the Shopify Elegant theme to now support Shopify’s customer account feature.

If you have a WordPress Blog and want to make the move to Shopify you can now easily import all the important stuff with a free app from Shopify. If you watch the video, you’ll notice a very sexy voice. :)

Shopify now has customer accounts for shops. You need to make some changes to your shop to enable them. In the next few weeks I will be adding these to my Shopify themes elegant and stoked. If I’ve helped or created your shop, please contact me directly to have me enable this for your shop.

An Independent test from Dave Beck over at shoppingcartstrategies.com was done to show which of the top e-commerce platforms had the best page load times. Tests were done with BigCommerce, CoreCommerce, Shopify and Volusion. Tests concluded that Shopify delivered the best results.

Looks like the Shopify folk are pumping out many great features lately! Another marvelous feature and often requested is having the ability to let guests comment on Shopify blog posts! For the longest time, people needed to keep their blog separated because this was important to them and maintaining two sites is less then ideal.

Adding hundreds of products will be much more convenient now that Shopify has introduced CSV import. Some news about it here.

Seems like my former manager, client, former manager have started up a blog over at http://www.startupottawa.com/. Needless to say it’s a blog about for the startup/tech scene in Ottawa, Canada. Some interesting posts here, I just may have to subscribe to their news feeds.

I’ve updated the Shopify theme named rare1. This theme fixes a number of issues with IE6 and I’ve also added a little more styling to it.

The Shopify marketplace has recently launched and I must say is quite kick ass. The functionality allows you to search the thousands of Shopify stores for products, even within a certain price range. The featured shop of the day is also quite cool. Very nice work guys.

The magnificent folks over at Jaded Pixel recently celebrated their 1 year anniversary of the Shopify launch. Working with the many Shopify shop owners on their stores is one of the most pleasant types of projects I get to do. I congratulate them and thank them kindly for all the business they send my way.
